The Honours by Martin Wishart at Malmaison, Glasgow

Award-winning chef Martin Wishart is certainly no stranger to the restaurant business, having opened his first, in Edinburgh in 1999.

Michelin starred, since 2001, his further ventures have seen him opening on Loch Lomond at Cameron House Hotel and his first ‘The Honours’ in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, a more contemporary, brasserie style restaurant.

The most recent, The Honours Glasgow, has opened within Malmaison Glasgow, offering contemporary dining within the ex-Greek Orthodox Church building, complementing the city hotel and The Mal Bar.

All three, work independently of each other but together, form a hospitable force to be reckoned with, a nouveau approach and refreshing change from the traditional.

Impressive surrounds hint more at restaurant fayre, however a brasserie-style approach make for a more relaxed dining experience at The Honours.

Accessible for all, in addition to the main menu, ‘Le Week-End’ and “Prix Fixe’ menus complement with special offerings over lunchtime and the weekend and a reduced dining rate for children.

Opting for the Chateaubriand for two, accompanied by duck fat chips and a green salad, the traditional brasserie fayre has been stepped up a few notches, with exceptional table service and a hugely enjoyable meal, enjoyed from the comfort of one, of the many, dining booths, sumptuously clad in indulgent colours.

A special mention must go to our wine service; a first choice was unfortunately unavailable (not on the menu), however, THE perfect stand-in was served, on our waiter’s recommendation and offered the ideal accompaniment to our meal.

Thank you The Honours – Glasgow is fortunate to have you!
