The Craw is not somewhere I just stumbled upon but a little village inn, with accommodation, I have known for some years and would love to adopt as my “local”, geography allowing.

Quaint, cosy, welcoming and serving some fantastic wines from an extensive list; what more could anyone wish for? Oh yes, some amazing food.

The bar evokes stereotypical, traditional village pub images; beams, friendly barman, few locals, local ales and a rather nifty collection of bar mats, alongside a few tables for eating; if your preference is to be in the hub of the chatter and in front of a log fire; this is storybook.

A characterful restaurant is divided into a relaxed space and more formal dining room, ideal for special occasions and small gatherings, opening out onto a rather surprising outside space with views over the splendid surrounding Border countryside and farmland.

Eating is entirely possible anywhere within The Craw as a relaxed, yet professional air pervades the walls and also the food. Simple, yet accomplished dishes are presented well and complete the companionable quality which now seems to be an established trait in this heart warming village pub.
